Offically 6 months

Cooper is a half a year old. Some days I can believe its been that long and others its just going by too fast. My mom wanted to make him a cupcake and cut it in half and a candle. Cooper and I are up in Bear Lake for a couple of days visting my mom & dad. Kris is in Vegas at a hardwood flooring convention. I think he got the better end of the deal. It really looks like and feels like a "frozen tundra". Its good to spend some quality time just hanging out with my family. We are big on games so we sit and play Farkle and Shrek Super Party. Tomorrow I am going to my sisters high school basketball game so I can see her Cheer. Hopefully Bear Lake wont get as much snow tonight as the news says (1-3 feet). Wish us safe travels!

Chubba Bubba

Ok so there are a couple of things you need to notice on the picture to the right! We have hit some milestones this week. I am sure they have been there for a while its just taken me this long to notice them. Our little man is FAT! Thats right he had a weigh in today at the docs office and he is ten pounds now. He gained two pounds in a month! If you will please check out the double chin and there are some rolls on his legs!!!!
Dr.Ralston was so happy to hear that he had gained so much weight. He did still stress that Cooper can't afford to get sick. Our real reason for being at the docs was the Jan. synagis shot. I hate it when he gets shots. He will be talking to me and the nurse, smiling, and then the next thing ya know he is screaming. Not moms favorite thing.
I do however enjoy the fact that he sleeps more on the days when he gets shots. It was really nice to come home after the docs office and lay down with Cooper and sleep for a couple extra hours. Especially since he has been waking me up every hour all night long. Its been rough. I do make sure that when he does wake up crying that its not just a whimper and then he falls back asleep. So there I am hovered over his crib moving his legs and rubbing his belly trying to get him to fart so I can go back to sleep. You would think that this would make him tired all morning. Oh no there he is in his crib at 7 am ready to go for the day. I hate it!!
He is just on formula now. He eats it just fine but his guts still are getting getting used to it. We are supposed to give it a week and if he isnt sleeping better then we are supposed to call the doc.

Cooper on the Packers

We are bummed that the Greenbay Packer's performance this evening wasn't enough to get them to the Superbowl. But while the game was still going on I got Cooper to talk about the Packer's . Its super cute!

6 month Pictures

Its a couple weeks early, but my mom was in town and so we decided to get Cooper's 6 month pictures done. It was so easy this time around. He fell asleep on the car ride over to Kidde-Kandids, which made me nervous. I was afraid he would be grumpy because we were going to wake him up. He smiled and talked to the photographer. He only had one problem with one pose on his belly. We couldn't get him to smile like that. It was a good day for pictures!

He is having a bit of trouble adjusting to the transition into forumla. He seems to be extremely gassy. I guess that is understandable being such a big change in diet. He wakes up in the middle of the night screaming, farts and then falls back asleep. He will do this every one to two hours. It isn't so great for either of us right now. He is eating it just fine which is a good thing. Just need to wait for the digestive tract to catch up.

Giggles, Crib & Formula

On Friday Cooper gave us his first giggle! It was the cutest thing I ever heard. Him and I were just talking googly talk on the couch when I attempted to lightly tickle him. At first he just grunted and then he let it out. It was just so funny when I realized he just giggled I couldn't stop giggling. We had to call Grandma & Grandpa Forakis and let them hear it over the phone. We weren't able to call anyone else before he didn't think it was fun anymore. Unfortunately we haven't been able to get him to giggle ever since. When we do though it will be caught on video.

Also Cooper has been sleeping in his crib, in his room, like a normal baby since Saturday! He isn't sleeping through the night yet but I decided it was time for him to move out of our room and into his own. He is doing very well though he will sleep for 5 hours and then wake up every 3 hours after that. Hopefully he will start sleeping all the way through the night soon.

He will also be on forumal in a weeks time. We are so close to running out of frozen breast milk so we decided it was time to make the switch. We are slowly integrating the forumla into the breast milk. So for the first few days it will be 3/4 breast milk & 1/4 forumla the 1/2 & 1/2 for a few days and then 1/4 breast milk & 3/4 formula. That is the plan anyway. If we run out of breast milk before then it might just be a jump to straight breast milk. Wish us luck!

Chop Chop

It has been a day of cutting. To start off the not good cutting way; Momma Hatch (Kris's ma) had to get her Gall Bladder taken out this morning. So Kris and his sister took his mom to St. Marks first thing this morning and they all sat around until they took Deb back for surgery at 11:00 am. She wasn't very happy! I wouldn't be either if I sat around that long. Any way her surgery went really well. They were able to go in with 4 small holes instead of one huge slice up her side. They took out the very diseased gall blatter and stich her up! She was able to leave the Hospital later today.

Also I got my hair cut! That is the good cutting. I have a very wonderful puff going on now. Its so liberating to get your hair cut short. I swear I lose 10 lbs every time I do it. Check out the pics and judge for your self!

Bath Time

Cooper has gotten to the point where he is starting to like his time to splash around in the tub. He smiles and talks. Gets that really cute face like he just concentrating so hard. Anyway I just wanted to share a couple of cute pictures.

Kahlin & Cooper

Today Cooper and I went to visit my friend Kammi. She and I were six weeks apart during our pregnancy, of course until Cooper came early! Her little boy Kahlin is seven weeks old now and I hadn't seen them since he was born. It was so good to just sit around with her and talk. We shared stories about our boys. There were funny things that we would pick up on like; Cooper and Kahlin both only sneeze twice. Its was cute to see them together. I just couldn't get over the fact that Kahlin had three inches of hair and you can't even pinch Coopers (Except for the patch). It was a great day. I really love everyone of my friends personalities.

Here is a picture of Cooper & Kahlin side by side when Kahlin was born!

Preemie Be Gone

Today I finally packed up Cooper's preemie clothing. Kris & I decided that we will donate it to the hospital. Of course in hopes that we wont need it again. Of course we kept a few outfits that have special meaning. Now you would think that this is a big step for Cooper but the fact is he hasn't fit into those clothes for a while. I have just been hanging on to them for some reason. After packing them up I was sad for some reason. I think it just made me realize all over again how small he was.

So good bye tiny baby and bring on the big boy!!
